Tomorrow's Focus on the Future Wednesday is Careers! We had a Career Day early on, but many of us have more than one dream job! Tomorrow is your second chance to dress as something you'd like to be!
Parents and guardians of 6th and 7th grade students:
Due to bus issues, we have had to reschedule tomorrow's field trip to the Lincoln Museum in Springfield. Our new date for the field trip will be May 20th, with the times remaining the same (leave at 10am, return by 2:45). Please give your students a heads up so they know tomorrow will be a regular school day, and our apologies for the inconvenience.

This week, we are looking at local colleges for our Focus on the Future Wednesday. There are many colleges local to central Illinois, and we will celebrate those tomorrow. Feel free to wear the school colors or shirt of your local college of choice!

Please see the attached flyer for details on our upcoming spring Mini Prom. Students in grades ECE-5th are invited to bring one adult as their "date." If you would like to donate snack items, drinks, or gently worn dresses for students to wear, please do. There are also limited spots for students to have their hair/makeup done by SPGS staff. Students will bring home a paper copy of this flier today. We are so excited for this event!

This is a reminder that today is a SIP Day, and SPGS students will be dismissed for Spring Break at 11:15. Students will return from break on April 7th. Have a great break tornadoes!
Our Family Academic Night is 1 day away! On Thursday, March 26th, we will be hosting this annual event from 5:30-6:45. Students and families will enter the gym doors and enjoy an open house style event this year! In the students' classrooms will be the activities the students have been working on that are centered around sports. Wear your sports attire to add to the fun! Pizza will be served in the gym from 5:30-6:30, and the cafeteria will have a photo booth and lots of free goodies for you to take home! And don't forget that Kona Ice and Traveling Tom's Coffee will be set up in the parking lot from 5-7 for your enjoyment also! We have many families confirmed for the fun night and we can't wait to see you all!
Tomorrow, we combine a spirit day with our Focus on the Future Wednesday. Spring break is almost here, so we want you to dress like a Tacky Tourist! Dress for somewhere you would like to or are going to travel to soon. Wear your favorite vacation spot shirt, or dress like these Tacky Tourists!
We had fantastic attendance today for our first day of IAR testing for grades 3-8! Thank you, parents, for all you do to help prepare your children for testing. We are hoping for even better attendance tomorrow! Please remember to have students here on time and ready to go. They did great today and only have 2 more days of testing to go!
IAR testing begins tomorrow for grades 3-8! Tuesday, March 24th, Wednesday March 25th, and Thursday March 26th will all be testing days starting right away in the morning. Please make sure your child is in attendance this week! We want our students to try their best and be successful on these tests. Please follow these steps to ensure your child is ready!

8th graders toured Morton Industries as part of the Pathways class, since many students have show interest in the manufacturing industry. Today, we were able to see pipe benders, laser cutters, and robotic welders. Many thanks to Morton Industries for hosting us today!
Reminder!! Tomorrow is the last day to get your forms in to RSVP for Academic Night! We hope to see you here next Thursday night!
Tomorrow is our next Focus on the Future Wednesday! We are looking at activities and sports that our students would like to do in the future. Pekin High School offers a huge variety of sports, clubs, and activities for their students. Wear something tomorrow that shows your interests and what future activity you would like to do!
This is a reminder that, due to SPGS being a polling place, tomorrow is a Teacher's Institute Day. As a result, there is no school for SPGS students.
Due to blowing snow and poor road conditions, there will be no school today. There will be no e-learning. Stay safe and warm tornadoes.
