Weather in the Southeast Region



The climate in the Southeast is warm and rainy. It gets very hot in the summer. The winter temperatures are usually warm compared to the rest of the United States.

The warm temperatures and the amount of rain in the Southeast are perfect for farming. Farmers have a longer growing season in the southeast. Agriculture is an important industry for the Southeast Region.

The Southeast region also has violent weather. From June through November, the Southeast has heavy winds and rain. Some storms turn violent. They are called hurricanes. Hurricanes have winds over 75 miles per hour and heavy rainfall. They can do a lot of damage to homes, businesses, land and agriculture.
