During the Our Town unit, students in kindergarten, first and second grade focused on South Pekin Grade School. They believe that this school is an important part of their lives and the community as a whole. Students began the unit by brainstorming all of the different aspects of the school. They researched the people who work in the school, discussed the learning that takes place, and all of the activities that are included in school life.
