Learn:
This is Janet Williams and she is a cook here at South Pekin Grade School.   Janet has lived in South Pekin all her life and has worked at the school for 24 years.  She learned to cook for so many people by having a good teacher, recipes from the state of Illinois, along with trial and error.  The office sends her a count of the children eating hot lunch everyday.  The cafeteria serves between 260 and 270 people each day.  Some special rules Janet has to follow are washing her hands and wearing a hair net.  Janet uses the big pot to cook things in, because it is easier.  Plus the pot cooks food at 165 degrees...which is what the state of Illinois requires.
