The word invention evokes images of fancy
contraptions and devices, wacky gizmos and gadgets. But most inventions
are ordinary parts of our everyday lives- a new garden rake, can opener,
or car model, for example. And many inventions aren't contraptions at all.
M&M's and Ben
& Jerry's ice cream are two tasty examples. An invention is any
new thing that makes something faster, easier, more powerful, more efficient,
more attractive, more accurate, more fun, or more productive--in short,
just plain better.
