Homes In South Pekin
          A First and Second Grade Project
           
          During the Our Town unit, first and second grade students have focused their attention on local homes. The children have become aware of their home in relation to the whole community. Students used Neighborhood Map Machine to create a map of South Pekin and plot their home. Throughout the unit, students have discussed common characteristics of homes, why homes are important, and the different types of homes in South Pekin and the world.
