LIBRARY BOARD

The Library board is there to make decisions on how to use the money.  To get on the board you have to be elected or appointed.  They are only appointed if they have no one to replace a person who has quit in the middle of the term.

They do not get paid for their work on the board.  The library board has to spend how much money they get a year.  Since their money is so scarce they only buy best sellers.    There are about 4,700 books in the South Pekin Library.

South Pekin Library cards can be used in other libraries, and other library cards can be used in South Pekin.  Our library could be improved by receiving more money and a bigger building.
