We interviewed Terry Reed the Fire Chief from the South Pekin Fire Department. We asked him about 13 questions. Our first question was why do people volunteer for the fire department? Terry replied, "Everyone has different reasons. First they like the rush of the fire". Second, he thinks it is how the adults play with fire.

Next we asked Terry how the fire department gets it's money? Terry replied," By taxes and fund raising".

Next we asked Terry what determines if a new truck is needed? Terry said," I.D.O.T ."

We then asked, what kinds of fire trucks and other equipment do you have? Terry replied, "1995 Ford 1250 gpm pump 1,000 gal. water tank on board. Also a 1974 Ford 750 gpm pump 750 gal water tank on board. Rescue 6 (r6) carries utilities is the #1 form of transportation for the fire department for equipment, or to transport people for emergency needs".
