All five states in the Pacific West Region border the Pacific Ocean. Hawaii and Alaska are special because they do not touch other states. Hawaii is the only state in the U.S. that is made of a group of islands.

All five of the Pacific West states have mountains. Alaska has the highest mountain. It is Mount McKinley. The Cascades and the Coast Ranges are the two mountain ranges in this region. Some of the mountains in this region are volcanoes.
