Agriculture is important to Illinois. Soybeans, corn and wheat are the top three crops grown in Illinois. Farms cover more than 80% of Illinois land. The rich soil and flat land in Illinois is perfect for farming. Farmers work very hard to crow crops and raise livestock. Illinois livestock includes hogs and cattle. Most of the corn grown in Illinois is used to feed livestock.
